Hi, do you need DC,which ripple? You could also use a pic/dac to control the current via a pwm, like all those powersupplies used in switched mode converters. Because most of the chips today use current controlled pwms you need maybe a second control-loop, which could be a little bit difficult for loop-control if you need very fast current-changes, otherwise it is more simple. I`m sure at Linear techs website you could find some usefull hints for this.
