> > People keep on telling me that Lithium batteries are the most long lasting, > but I don't that they serve my purpose, after heavily testing them. > There are different types of lithium batteries. Lithium Iron Disulphide batteries are a high output current type.Used in high drain appliances such as toys, torches etc. Lithium Manganese are medium / intermittent drain types (typ 20mA max continuous. from an AA cell). Used in cameras etc. Lithium Thionyl Chloride are low output types used to support sram backup and the like (typ 1.5mA max cont from an AA cell). The really big plus with lithium batteries is their energy density, their 10 year shelf life and -20degC operation. The big downer is the price. _____________________________ Lance Allen Technical Officer Uni of Auckland Psych Dept New Zealand www.psych.auckland.ac.nz _____________________________
