Hello, I am posting this for Kurt Stevens (and myself). Sorry if it's a bit OT, many of us use more than one micro platform and are keeping an eye on alternatives for the next project. ----------------------------------------- Hello All. I would like to announce the beginning of the AVR-GCC FAQ. I say the beginning because at this point it is little more than a skeletal structure. What is available, though, is a home for the FAQ provided by Spehro Pefhany, an engine for maintaining the FAQ, Faq-O-Matic, provided by Jon Howell, and a structure to start with, provided by Spehro and myself, Kurt Stevens. You can find the AVR-GCC FAQ at: http://www.bluecollarlinux.com/ I asked earlier on the Atmel and AVR lists for ideas and got many encouraging responses, thank you for those. The overwhelming response was that there is a need for this FAQ. I was encouraged by this because I know that the information for this FAQ will have to come from the AVR and AVR-GCC user community, I simply don't have the expertise to answer the many questions that come up around this topic. What I can do is organize, rewrite and sometimes write up answers myself, and if people will provide the information, I will do what I can to get it in the FAQ. I suggest that if people are willing to provide info for the FAQ, they first mention it on the related lists in case someone else has the same idea, to avoid duplication of effort. If you are willing to contribute to the FAQ, send submissions to: kstevens@carolina.cmac.com Please mention if you want me to withhold credit for your submission, if your submission is specific to the Windows or Linux version (or other), if you want me to rewrite for you, etc. I would like to thank everyone who has participated in this so far, the authors and contributors of GCC and AVR-GCC, Spehro for hosting and co-administrating the FAQ, Jon Howell for Faq-O-Matic, people who posted to the lists with ideas, and the people who help other people use AVR-GCC, who's example I am encouraged by. Lastly, I have to say that I am going on a retreat and will be unavailable from 5 pm EST today until Monday next. Regards, Kurt Stevens -------------------------------- That's all, hope to see some interesting submissions..
