Dear Miguel. Dimera 3500 (from Relisys) has a serial interface, but it works not exactly as a RS232, it works together with its own Windows software driver in high speed, not the regular 9600 or whatever modem speeds. Dimera 3500 store images in pure BMP files, not compressed or any other format, as several others save in JPG for example. The 2 Megs memory can be transfered much faster than what a 57600 bps modem could do. I purchased one of those Dimera 3500 machine for my brother in law, in fact I am looking at it right now. I made some tests, but never measured the comm speed, no motive to do that. Of course, if you find out that the communication speed is compatible with available modems at the market, I don't see why you can't use them, by the way the machine uses TX, RX and ground pins only, so pratically easy to wire it to a modem. > WF wrote: > > Hi for all, > > I'm contacting for DIMERA 3500 acquistion...i'ts a DIGITAL CAMERA with > RS-232 serial output... > > With the camera, you will receive a 2M memory for store 10 high > Resolution PICTURES... > > You run the Software, the serial is OPEN, a break is send, and > transfers of images begin... > > My question is, can i use between the Software and the CAMERA, a > MODEM?
