Well, I didn't waste much time on it, but I certainly found MPSIM to be useless because it didn't simulate the peripherals. I am still totally dumbfounded by my coworkers assertions of its usefulness. I went to my boss and showed him that it only took a few wasted days to pay for an emulator from Microchip. Then it turned out that we already had one that the company had gotten for free! As near as I could figure out, it conflicted with WinAmp or something, so the engineer who was using it gave up on it. True, the emulators are a bit pricey for home use, but if you're paying somebody to write PIC code, it is really dumb not to buy them an emulator. > -----Original Message----- > From: Robert Rolf [mailto:Robert.Rolf@UALBERTA.CA] > Sent: Monday, February 21, 2000 7:38 PM > To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU > Subject: Re: ARGGG ASYNC port > > > Welcome to the club of hairpulling engineers. > > MPSIM does NOT DO USART simulation.
