I have built a 16f877 board from scratch with a 10-pin programming port that I connect to my dt001 programmer. I have the PIC pins dedicated to the programing port, so there is nothing else connected. When I try to program the PIC, I get errors unless I hold my finger across the data and clock lines of the PIC. The wire from the DT001 through my board to the pic is about 8 inches. Anyone have any ideas what is going on here? I have though about putting a large resistor across the pins to simulate my finger, but I have not found anyone else having to do that. thanks John Scott kd4vhg@radio.org
