I am working on a project that requires a simple remote control to turn on or off a blower mounted on a wall. The remote control transmitter has to be in a nice and small enclosure similar to the ones used in a car remote. A single button control is sufficient. The battery is enclosed in the housing. The receiver has to be a small module that can be mounted on a PCB and will be powered by the PCB. It has to provide a suitable output for a circuit/processor to control the blower. Either infra-red or radio frequency remote control technology can be used but there must never be interference with other remotes. All remotes must have the same unique fixed code. Security is not necessary. This is a low budget remote-control project. Does anyone know of companies that can provide me with ready-made transmitter and receiver module pairs? I may be able to design the remote control based on IR technology using a PIC12CXX for the transmitter running on battery power with a small LED indicator. There are ready-made enclosures similar to the car remote that can be used to house the transmitter. The receiver may be built with a PIC16C54C because I need some extra feedback on actual fan operation and LED indicators etc. It will be housed in the same enclosure as the blower. Please give me some comments, advice or feedback.
