I did an interpreted language in an F84 a while back.
16 commands, with varying parameters, including ASCII text.
Program flow control like Skip + N commands or Skip - N commands, or
if input, (a TTL line) skip N commands

There was a PC program that took the english version, and tokenized it, then
fed it to the 84 on a bit-banged serial port, and the 84 stored it in EEPROM
for execution later.
(after it detected that the host program was no longer talking to it.)
