In a recent discussion with Tech Tool's Jerry Merrill, He mentioned their plans for the next release of CVASM. First, note that CVASM is a low priority compared with their other development tools. It will probably be at least 2 months before the next release. They plan on releasing the '87x Mathias module next week and 3 other modules over the next couple of weeks. Back to CVASM, the following is a `snippet' from our discussion, posted by permission: >The next major release of CVASM will do away with the internal tables and >switch to external header files for symbol definitions. This will: >1. Reduce the need to release a new version of CVASM each time a new device >is released, reducing the time lag between spec release and support. EXE >releases require much more testing than header file releases. >2. Make the symbols more visible (just look at the header). >3. Makes it easier and clearer to the user how they can adapt or change the >symbols if needed. >4. Makes it possible for the user to reduce symbol table usages by deleting >unused symbols. - Tom ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tom Handley New Age Communications Since '75 before "New Age" and no one around here is waiting for UFOs ;-)
