Anyone want to help stop wheel inventing here. I'm looking to put together a project to provide a timer for my hifi (so my minidisc player will record radio programmes in a timed manner. I haven't been able to find a readily built module for this cheaply (wall timers would work but I want something that is boxed neatly with my hifi and has better user interface) so thought this is an ideal project for PIC. Idea is 16F84 with LCD and DS1302 (battery backed-up). Multi day multi-event event timer (similar to VCR) and switch 3 mains appliances (tuner/amp/minidisc). Simple manual/timer operation with LED indicator. Anyone got any DS1302 code (in MPASM - I don't have a C compiler) or done anything similar. No problem in me poking thru the 1302 D/S and figuring the code out but reinventing wheels doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. In return will make the completed project public. Anyone got a code repository site - I've got LCD (3 and 7 wire), I2C to 24LC65, Morse code etc routines that I'd be happy to share. Thanks Brian. Brian E Jones Centre for Java Technology IBM HURSLEY
