Hello Mr. Oleg Hope you got my point! There are several application notes like asynchronous serial I/O, Serial port utilities etc. And there are no proper ref for wire up. So I would like to know whether there is any proper reference for this application. Actually I am having a UPS and manufacturer has given given a set of commands which if sent through serial port will give its parameters like I/P voltage, current, o/p voltage, frequency etc. Now I am sending rs232 commands using vb application through PC. So Don't want to use PC for that purpose. Waiting for your response Thanks rams From: Oleg Sergin on 01/25/2000 10:50 PM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU@SMTP@PADIEX cc: SR.Ramasubramanian/UBG/TVSETUM/SCL@TVS Subject: Re[2]: RS232 using PIC Hello SR.Ramasubramanian, Aha, now I've got it. So want to replace PC talking via RS232 to PIC with another PIC-based device. You will need some driver to meet RS232 signal condition (something like MAX232) and PIC with UART or even without UART - use code from Microchip's AN.
