Most common cause is that your images consume more colours than are
provided by the browser you are using to view them.  But I agree, cheap
ISPs may decide to compress your images.

Your domain server should not relate to the issue at all.  Web server,
yes, domain server, no.

Please point at one for me to review.  Send an original to me privately
by electronic mail and I will compare the two images to see if your ISP
has decided to modify it for you.

When you test your page off-line, are you using the same browser?
