Hi Phil, I've been using the BX-1 for a few months and the BX-24 since it was released ... both are excellent products. The BX-24 is pin compatible with Parallax's Basic Stamp BS-2, but will greatly increased capabilities. 32kB EEPROM 400 bytes of user RAM about 6 times faster than the BS-2 19 I/O pins (8 of which can be 10-bit ADC) SPI interface which doesn't use any of the 19 I/O pins multitasking floating point math US$10 less expensive than the BS-2 Its dialect of BASIC looks a lot like Visual Basic, so it's very easy to quickly prototype an application. The tech support has been better than excellent. http://www.basicx.com/ Peter Anderson's site has a lot of sample code: http://www.phanderson.com/basicx/ There is a good mail list which is monitored by the NetMedia folks: http://www.onelist.com/community/basicx/ It's NOT necessary to buy the $100 development kit! The BX-24 can be programmed on a breadboard with a 4-wire serial cable just like the BS-2, and the software is available for download from the BasicX site or on CD for about $10. I'm very impressed with both the BX-24 module and with NetMedia. They recently had an EEPROM upgrade ... just mailed the my modules to them and they did the upgrade for FREE ... not even a charge for the return mail. Most tech support questions have been answered on line in less than one hour. All in all, I highly recommend the BasicX modules. Good luck and have fun, - Nick - Philippe Jadin wrote: > > The subject says all : has anyone used the basicX chip? > look at : http://basicx.com > > It looks very nice, programmed in basic (you guessed that:-), 32 Kb > eeprom, 8 analog inputs, 8 digital io...
