Another thought ( as "yammies" are usually very good ), have you looked on their web site for any drivers you made need to let it live in harmony with your cdrom ( and windoze!) ? A friend of mine with a yammie had to do this as far as I can remember. I borrowed a Yamaha IDE burner from a friend, and although I think it is the biggest pile of crap ever*, I just plugged it in, ran the burner software (Prassi) and it worked fine on all the disks I have tried from unbranded to TDK etc. That was using 4x speed recording and I have yet to screw up a disk....although I'm sure it's only a matter of time ;o) The only snag I've found is that if I burn a RW disk, I can't read it on anything other than the CD burner, is that normal? Cheers Mike Rigby-Jones * It has the flimsiest drawer mechanism I've ever seen, it takes 20 to 30 seconds to recognise a disk after it's been inserted and it refuses to co-exist with my normal 40x CDROM drive, Windows crashes on startup everytime I have them both plugged in.
