Look for a used Citizen 40 column printer from the mid 80's. It's got a mechanism that's used in many cash registers still, so supplies are still readily available. Prints black and red, I think there was a parallel version, but the one I have (and have seen many of for $20ish used) is serial for the commodore 64, so is even easier to deal with from the number of pins perspective.. Go look at a receipt from a BP gas station (that wasn't a conversion from some other type station) since most of them have the same cash register with that printer in it. Is the only small cheap (now, used) printer I know of, and it's a good one too. Hmm tho now that I think about it, if you can stand thermal the gameboy printer might be useable as well.
