It's an old saw now, but why not look further, *beyond* W2000? - Start
     converting them to Linux.

Hmm.  Is there a basic DOS emulator for LINUX?  Nothing fancy - just
something for well-behaved programs that use ANSI.SYS for their screen
formatting and evil pointer manipulation for direct access to parallel
or serial ports?  Might be an interesting project...
