Why don't you just use HyperTerminal that comes with Win9X....that works

Because the original request was for an application that could trap serial data coming from another application. Using another PC, hyperterminal would be able to display either the trasmitted or the received data but not both. This app is an elegant way to trapping the data without having to use a second PC.
