since this is OT and you didn't mention in  subject most piclisters
may not  like it at all. one thing I will recommend.

1. put it in camera mode and look inside of the lens use flash light move
the flash light back an forward
    and try to see if  iris is  working or not. it should open and close
while you are
    moving the light. if you see any iris movements this means iris is
working fine.
    if not then look inside of viewfinder and point  the flash light
directly to the
    lens if you see any tiny light while you are moving the light this means
you
    have iris problem the solution is to take it in part and clean it I am
not sure
    if you can do that.
