I would like to make a circuit that will look for specific 3-digit sequences and take action upon them based upon the following criteria: 1) There may be any number of these sequences in a row. 2) After anything that doesn't match the sequences is found, the circuit should ignore any remaining input and stop looking for the sequences. 3) The circuit would perform predefined actions for the sequences, do nothing else for other input, but would still pass ALL input (including the sequences) to a different application which may make use of any of the input in its own way. My questions, then, would be: 1) Would a PIC be the best, and least expensive way of accomplishing the above? 2) Would the PIC handle the task exclusively, or would additional support circuitry (e.g. for the DTMF decoding, itself) be necessary? 3) If the something else would be necessary for the DTMF, or would be better for the entire task, which of the many options out there would be most appropriate? Thanks! ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number - Free Free voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com
