Have you tried the www.linxtechnologies.com page? They have several solutions that may work for you. I'm using their HP module - but I don't know if it will work for your case - the range is good (up to 1 mile), but I don't know what you can stand for antennas, etc. They are introducing new stuff all the time and they have a transceiver that may do the job (very compact).
