Lacking the budget for "flux remover," denatured alcohol works fairly well. You should find it at any hardware store. This product is essentially ethanol with some poisonous additives added so it can't be used as a beverage (at least, not more than once). Ethanol only costs a few dollars per gallon to make. The price of liquor alcohol contains a huge share of taxes which don't apply to denatured alcohol. It is hard to get all the flux out from under surface mount chips. Not using too much in the first place is a good idea. ___________________________________________________________________ Why pay more to get Web access?
