The Pic 'n books by Benson and others are a good start. They are published by Square One (http://www.sq-1.com/) . If you are really just getting started, then pick up the 'Easy Pic 'N' book and go through it. It will bring you up to speed pretty quickly. It is basic but has a lot of interesting information and you can work through the examples in a couple of evenings. The books go on to other topics, but the 'Serial Pic 'N' book (the latest in the series) has tons of information about serial I/O with PICs. Don McKenzie's link for the converted Stamp code is a good place if you want some canned routines. Don has already responded to you but his place (www.dontronics.com/convert.html) has all that and more. You can learn a lot by just browsing around on his site and his links.
