There are a host of PSX mod chips. (I'm not involved personally but I
have a friend who is). From the 1000 series up to the, I think, new
9000 series, 12C508's are the preferred PIC but I've seen installation
instructions for F84's. There are standard, "stealth", and some other
new one now. If you really want to know about them there are plenty
of sites that offer the software.
