I have been using the MPLAB- ICE2000 for a month or two now
with the 12C67X module, we have ordered a 16F87X module but no
sign of it so far.. a bit annoying.

It is a pleasure to use with the integrated/assignable logic probes
and the on board frequency generator... being able to try different
clocks at will.

That and the the other cute features all mean it is faster to develop
with. We solved problems twice as fast than with our ICE2000.
You pay for what you get but it is worth it.
