The SRS (Seattle Robotics Society) mailing list is a good resource for such things, see http://www.seattlerobotics.org to join. Their electronics pages ("basic technologies") could use some serious work, of course... There's a "Mechatronics" list in the planning/spawning stages here locally, it will probably have a Robots sublist on there, but it's not running yet.
