with MS paint, Netscape Composer (comes with 4.6) or FrontPage Express (coms with MSIE 4)
 (to convert from *.BMP to *.GIF )
you can make a diagram  like the above in just 1/2  hour, coil is made up of "C" (then copy & paste, move, paste, move, p... )
