Hi Would a FET do the job of a reverse polarity protection diode for Michele? Perhaps an N-channel FET in series with the battery supply, with Source to batt. -ve, Drain to +ve, and gate tied to Drain?? I seem to recall that the FET would have a significantly lower Vdrop than a diode, and can handle Drain - Source reversal no problems. Is this so?
