I have it completely out of circuit except for the osc etc.  Its sitting on
a protoboard.  I have disabled the AD's, and setup all of port a as
outputs.  They don't work according to the manual.  That is a bug.

All manner of code that I had working fine on port b chokes on individual
pins on port A.  These are all things that worked on portb pins with
identical block diagrams to similar pins on port A.
