If you just want to remotely observe something rather than capture
incriminating evidence onto tape then 'Toys-R-Us' and similar stores sell
kids cameras that are reasonably indestructable, cheap, but low quality.
Eventually a background image will be burnt into the camera and monitor, but
at the price you can replace these types of camera every few years.
