Couple of points, on that (drifting into another OT topic): I would hire who had minimal (even no) experience on a particular uC, if there were other factors which overruled them. I have hired well-rounded folks and never been disappointed, and I've hired "exactly the exp. I need" and been sorely disappointed. As much as I hated the "arts" part of my degree, it DOES make for a better employee. Now, as for putting your life in his hands: Yes you are, every employee can make or break an organization.
