I'll toss this over to the team, but I have a hard time believing that this has any real effect at all. v4.12.12 is mainly for the 18Cxx2 support and MPLAB-ICD NT compatibility and overall ICD improvements. It has a few known glitches, one in the __config directive in MPASM for the 17Cxxx family, an inability to "fill range" with the Modify dialog in simulation mode, and an annoying message that comes up sometimes asking you if you want to rebuild the project. Unless you've got MPLAB-ICD or want to explore the 18Cxx2 architecture, I'd recommend sticking with v4.12. Full production release of v5.00 comes out in December with these bugs fixed, some new parts support, and a major system overhaul of the on-line help, with a general clean up of the system. Some of these features can be seen in v4.12.12, but v5.00 will have a lot more, including MPLAB-ICDE 2000 NT support. -- ___________________________ | Darrel Johansen | | tempe, arizona | | darrelj@primenet.com | |_________________________|
