Just a guess -- If you are transmitting data at 300 Bps, for example, that
is a lot of time that would be wasted between bytes. With a send interrupt,
you could tell the USART to send a byte, go back to doing whatver you are
doing, then when the interrupt comes, send the next byte, and so on.
