Yes - I hooked up a PIC16C64 to a 2.5" laptop harddrive as part of a
MP3-player project

I used ata3-r6.doc as a guideline. I just did a web search on ata3-r6,
and found a copy for download here:
        ftp://fission.dt.wdc.com/pub/standards/ata/ata-3/ATA3-R6.EXE
