It would appear that to get a decent PCB software package one is going to have to pay SOMETHING. I use CircuitMaker and TraxMaker Pro myself. The suite of software for both is around $1500.00 however you get unlimited everything pretty much. You can easily create your own packages and schematic symbols the two work seamlessly with each other when designing and routing the PCB from an existing schematic drawn in CircuitMaker. There is a less costly version, both would be around $600.00 total and these versions work just as well as the full Pro versions. The only real difference is about 2000 less devices in the supplied library (it still has a ton of them) and the compatibility with other routers. But, of course if you have the TraxMaker PCB software why worry about other routers. That is my $.02 worth on the subject. Randy A.
