Morgan, ISD is coming out with a fairly inexpensive speech recognition chip. The information says that it should be expected 3rd Quarter 1999, but I cannot find any model numbers or data sheets for the chips. If you are interested, you could try to contact ISD to see if you could get more information and possibly some samples as well. More information about the chip can be found at: http://www.isd.com/products/speechrecog/index.html Hopefully ISD can give you more information about the chip. Sorry I can't provide much more-there is not much info on their website. I am looking for a sound recognition (aka speech recognition) module. I have tried one, bougt from http://www.Conrad.de, but it is really lousy. The DSP (single chip-system) is marked Sensory inc, Voice Direct (I know I have to say the words exactly as it learned them, but this could hardly recognise a tape recorder... :( ) I am trying to control a tool, while having both hands busy with other things. Good also if it can recognise some tooling noise for better process feedback. It need to be able to listen continously. Good if it will report anything it hear, with some kind of probability indication. Communication to processor preferrably using SPI, but almost anything is OK.
