        People got involved with unused I/O pins, and I didn't see any
response to your question... My attitude on this is that PICs are CMOS
devices, and should *never* have any pins left floating when power is
applied.
        I have used pullup resistors on all unused pins in my programmers.
Offhand, I'm not sure why I chose pullups over pulldowns, but it was likely
so that there wouldn't be any conflicts if there were internal pullups that
were active. (Internal pullups with external pulldowns could result in just
as bad a situation as floating inputs!)
