Hi.
I need to implemet a serial number (to be stored on 12CE518 EEPROM)
for my app. but I'm not sure if I can use this micro because I need
to burn the e2prom serial number in programming mode *after* program
code has been downloaded (ISP/OTP device).
So I'm not sure whether 12CE518 16byte EEPROM memory can be accessed
independently of program code in programming mode (program code
previosly burned).
I know that this can be done with some 16Cxx and 16Fxx mcus but
in this case the EEPROM is poorly integrated to the mcu architecture.

Besides I read this note on 12CE67X EPROM Memory Programming
Specification / Page 2 (I couldn't find this note on 12CE518
datasheet)

Note 2: Due to the secure nature of the on-board
EEPROM memory in the
PIC12CE673/674, it can be accessed only
by the user program.

I can't believe the lazy way Microchip *added* EEPROM memory to their
8 pin mcus. Due to the secure nature???!!!! Come on!!!!

So long!
