Do try the white spray paint on the back of your print idea, I know it sounds like a messy job but it really does give excellent results. Give it 2-3 hours of sunshine to dry, and then you can use DS tape or spray adhesive. BTW, I have some of that Canon back print film too - is it BF-102? Nicer if it had a matt finish instead of gloss.
