Hey Wes, Take a look at my "El Cheapo" at: http://www.rentron.com/Myke4.htm It is a fairly (not ultimately) simple parallel port programmer and there has been a lot of success by people getting the design to work with a wide variety of PCs. The software included for download will work for 16F84s as well as EPROM parts and has a debug utility as well.
