I have a project using up to 20 16F84's on one board. I am thinking of clocking all from one source, rather than a xtal on each. Assuming that's a good idea, should I have a separate Xtal oscillator, using another IC or such, and buffers to all the PICs? Or, can I use the clock from the first PIC, and buffer to the rest? I was considering using a 4050, and clocking three or four PICs from one buffer gate. Suggestions would be welcome and appreciated, re the soundness of either way, and a suggestion of a suitable buffer Regards to all, Howard Simpson
