Thanks all for the posts on this subject.

I have called Digi-Key, and they can only program the "16C" series.  The
12C508A is not possilble for them (they dont have the set-up to do it)

Future can program the C508 @ 0.08 to 0.15 each.  This is an acceptable
number to me at this point at quantities of 1k, 5k and 10k.

Thought I would share that info.
