This is just one more reason to follow the Prime Directive: NEVER believe what ANYONE says about the future. (and only half of what they say about today). Most manufacturers (myself and probably you too) don't always deliver what they promise when they promise it. It's just a fact of life. New silicon is usually 3-6 months late. If it's a totally new line, triple that. Documentation to follow. If a design has a deadline, I never consider ANY part that hasn't been on the market for several months. Better to spend a few more bucks on something that you can build than save money on something you can't!
