Hello, Sorry for what may seem like a very naive question, but are the start and stop bits in UART transmission both high (1). I have been testing the USART (in Asynchronous mode) of a PIC16c73a, and have found on my oscilloscope that start bits are high (Vdd), but stop bits are low (Gnd). Do people have a choice as to whether stop bits are high or low (I would imagine not for clock recovery reasons)? The more likely scenario, of course, is that I am doing something wrong? Anyone have any insight as to what may happening? Thanks. Mario -- If it wasn't for the last minute ... nothing would get done.
