Copyright often works on the type *name*.  If you're a font designer, and
you want for more people to buy your stuff, then you take an old,
established font, tweak it a bit, then re-release it under a new name.

If you have $40 in your pocket, buy Corel Office 7 -- it comes with 1000
fonts, and a nice booklet listing fonts by style and obvious use, in
addition to name.  (I like the apps and the 10,000-piece clipart library
too.)
