Is anyone successfully using PP875 to program 16C71 PICs, please ?

I have version  0.7 of the program , and have made version 3 of the PCB.  It
appears to work OK with 16C84 's  (no bulk erase? ), but not with 16C71's.
Programming and Vcc voltages are as specified.      I get "xxxxx wanted" error
messages.

I normally use PIX for '84s, very successfully.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend any other  freeware program for 16C71's ?
