Thanks for replying. I had some trouble with my email for the last 24 hrs. I may have missed someone else's ideas. If you have sent something, please resend it to me personally. I do not think the problem is with the BRGH bit. At least the 16C7X manual says it is fixed for 16F87X's... The issue with the BRGH bit (as I heard it) was erratic data transmission/reception. My problem is that I don't have anything at all. I looked at AN574 and made a few changes to the code. AN574 was written for a 17C43. I tried to follow the gist of it, but with no luck.
