Orbistar (www.orbistar.com, or, if not working, htd.com) sells the trimble mini mag mount antenna for $45(us). Their orbistar $35 does not work. In fact, this particular GPS has trouble with nearly any and all gps antennas not made by trimble - reason being that they have overcurrent/undrecurrent circuitry which is triggered by the high initial current of most antennas. TSIP is trimbles internal binary protocol. I assume it gives one scads of information. NMEA is the standard for positioning, and is accepted by most mapping programs for the PC and other computers. TAIP is a text based positioning protocol meant for radio transmissions. It depends on your application as to what you should use. -Adam ryan pogge wrote: > > anyone find a good cheep antena to use with it yet? > also, I have found all the upgrade software for it, what > is the advantage or disadvantage of each protol? > thanks > _Ryan > > > Hook it up directly. > > > > -Adam > > > > "John A.
