   You'll find a source of ferrite cores for many of your projects at
www.acm.components.philips.com They have a lot of types, and I hope you
find one that match with you necessity.
 I suggest you the application note for Electronic Lamp Ballast, at
Motorola. Search for the AN153 (Electronic Lamp Ballast Design). It
explains most of design especifications, with electronic FPC also.

Hi

I need a source for small ferrite transformers - the kind that are used for
electronic light ballasts.  Part of a PIC based project that I am making
needs to power a 230V 4W fluorescent tube from 12Vdc.

Need something like:

Vin 12V
Vout 300V
Turns ratio ~25
Frequency 10-30kHz
Current 300mA low V side.

Alternatively, if anyone knows of a source for relatively cheap ballast
kits, that would be great.
