I picked up some of the GPS Receivers last week. They are the Trimble SVeeSix receivers. Add an active antenna to the input, apply 5 volts, MAX232 level converter for RS232 and you can talk to the unit. Has an 8 pin connector, serial in, serial out, DGPS serial in, 5 volt, backup power. The serial in is at CMOS levels. These units communicate using TAIP not NMEA that all mapping programs use. I'm working on a conversion unit to convert TAIP to NMEA protocol. These receivers normally sell for about $160.00. They are used in a lot of fleet application, i.e, delivery trucks, and are the units that General Motors uses in the GPS moving map displays in Oldsmobiles. Dave Pearson
