Hi, maybe I am a strange animal here, because of my official attest is for economist. And now I work as technician, engineer and university instructor (for informatics & electronics). The ground of this is, that in the obsolete time of socialism (I'm in Hungary) there was a Paramilitary Teaching Program, where young people having interest to study voluntarily some technical thing (it was driving, parachutting, driving plane, becoming to a HAM, shooting, diving, etc.), and I joined to "become to HAM" program. It was really good! On the university for economics I studied software engineering, and worked afterwards as programmer. In my programming job there were more and more challenges crossing the hw-sw barriere and I must study also such things. My 1st micro was Z80. Now I have also a small company beneath of my full time job on the university, where I work with an electrical engineer together. It is very interesting to see how different our approach can be; he tries to solve problems from the h/w side and I always from s/w side (PIC programming). Of course, the final solution depends on the particular situation, but it is more efficient than pure s/w or h/w solutions. I am also trained enough to suggest hardware solution and understand their particular advantages and drawbacks. Beneath, I solder also prototypes of my developments and can also deal with digiscope and DMM. I enjoy the advantages of the multi-side approach and the need of continuous self-teaching. Only the time is short. There is a proverb in Hungary: good clergyman learns until dead. And it is true. Regards, Imre
